The unique feature of the V300 is an integrated print head maintenance system, which is above the paper path. This fully electronic system incorporates both a self-cleaning capability and a capping function within the confines of the imager. Cleaning of the print heads includes a purge process with built-in wipers to remove debris. The capping function places the ink cartridges against seals, and this prevents the ink from drying out when the imager is not in use. Together, these automated processes maintain optimum print quality throughout the life of the ink cartridge (or bulk ink supply) without operator intervention.
