The Muratec F-160

Award-winning fax communication, network printing, and ImageLSI technology!

Just announced!
The F-160 has received Buyers Laboratory's coveted "Recommended" seal.

Use your F-160 for 600 dpi printing from a personal computer or a network of PCs.Muratec's F-160 multifunctional fax machine includes the company's broadest assortment of time- and money-saving communication tools ever, plus a speedy 8 ppm print engine and a host of Muratec fax technology designed to make high-volume faxing more effective and efficient.

The F-160 is also the first fax machine to include Muratec's ImageLSI processor, a sophisticated image-handling LSI (large-scale integrated circuit) designed to improve printed fax quality and to speed scanning and image processing within the fax machine.

In addition to its advanced image-handling technology, the F-160 includes Muratec's 32-bit FaxRISC™ microprocessor and QuadAccess® performance, allowing the F-160 to perform four or more simultaneous functions without slowing. Fax users can be sending or receiving, printing, scanning and programming at the same time, without slowing the F-160's performance.

The F-160 includes a 33.6 Kbps modem with JBIG compression for 2.8-second transmission speeds per page. The F-160's print engine has also been souped up, providing an 8-page-per-minute print speed and 600 dpi laser output.

Other high-volume fax features in the F-160 include a 140-page (2MB) standard memory, expandable to 1,260 pages; 200-number autodialer with 64 one-touch numbers and 136 speed-dial numbers; 99 delayed commands; and broadcasting to as many as 230 locations.

The F-160 also includes two new features intended for the high-volume environments in which it will work. Muratec Soft Keys allow users to create simple one-touch shortcuts to their favorite features, allowing them to turn these features on or off instantly, with no programming required.

Muratec Quick Memory Transmission also speeds communication. With Quick Transmission, the F-160 begins dialing a remote fax as soon as it starts to scan the first page of a document into memory. The F-160 can connect with the remote fax and begin transmitting while it is still scanning pages into memory. And, with QuadAccess® performance, it can handle both tasks without slowing.
