Muratec ImageLSI™

ImageLSI improves the faxes customers see most often: faxes sent in normal resolution. Muratec's new ImageLSI technology is designed to improve the kind of faxes most customers see every day: faxes received and printed in normal resolution. ImageLSI makes these faxes smoother and easier to read, and dramatically speeds scanning in fine resolution, too.

ImageLSI uses advanced image-handling techniques developed by Muratec to improve the printed appearance of these normal-resolution faxes. The image processing algorithms used in the ImageLSI chip also improve the appearance of pages received with combined text and line art content, and are effective regardless of the brand or model of the sending fax.

This powerful new chip also allows Muratec faxes equipped with ImageLSI technology to scan higher resolution documents faster than ever. With ImageLSI technology, the F-360, for example, offers 1.7-second-per-page scanning for documents scanned in normal or fine resolution. Traditional fax machines offer their fastest scan speeds for normal-resolution documents, but slow noticeably on the higher-resolution scans that better represent a documents original appearance.

Most fax users receive at least some faxes sent in normal resolution, and for some customers normal-resolution faxes make up most or all of their receptions. Why not use an ImageLSI fax from Muratec for the best looking receptions possible?

A note about received fax messages

ImageLSI can't increase the resolution of a received fax message...

The resolution of a received fax message is determined by the sending fax, not the receiving one, so normal-resolution documents sent to a Muratec fax equipped with ImageLSI technology are still received at the ITU standard for normal resolution, 203 x 98 dpi. ImageLSI provides the best possible appearance for these faxes, using the sophisticated image processing algorithms and high-resolution print systems developed by Muratec.

A wrinkled, faded or dirty document transmitted to your fax machine, or one scanned poorly, won't be helped much by ImageLSI technology or by anybody else's fax machine. But compare the "before" and "after" images above to see how ImageLSI can make for more readable fax messages in your office, every day.
